Yummy bakery is small yet lively. Its popularity has made parking difficult in this busy little strip mall, There is indoor and outdoor seating, but not much. I had a Vietnamese coffee and a croissant. My only complaint is the pile of ice that came with my coffee. There was more ice than coffee. There are many other places that are far more generous with a coffee::ice ratios. The gentleman who took my order was charming and helped me with pronunciations. I heard they are renown for taro pastries. I will definitely be back to try their goodies.

The size is smaller compared to other baos but I like it that way. The dough to filling ratio was just right. I came for the taro bao and it was delicious! I thought I came early enough but there was a bit of a line.

Bring CA$H or 3% Credit/Debit card fee which is like $.30 cents for $10. The price is reasonable. #3 Grilled Beef with Special Sauce - my personal favorite but if you love pork, I'd stick to grilled pork - also one of my favorites. #3 is more saucy with iceberg lettuce, shredded green spring onions, and tomatoes besides the normal fermented carrots/daikons/cucumber/jalapeños. The flavor in this grilled beef banh mi reminded me of home - not the exact taste but almost. The best part - WARM breads. Not many Vietnamese places warm up Banh Mi when they make it which make it tasted "cold". I don't like cold food. You can ask staff to cut Banh Mi in half and/or put vegetable on the side so they can stay fresh longer when you do not eat it immediately. I usually order for to-go and use airfryer or grill at home to warm up the bread if I do not eat immediately at the store. Still taste good. There are a couple tables inside and outside to sit down and eat. The inside was clean and organized. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Parking is a bit tight but customer rotate in and out so there are always parking when I visited. There are also adjacent parking in the shopping areas next door.

I had to come see for myself what the hype was about w the purple taro buns at Yummy Bakery. The buns are steamed and filled w taro paste. The taro paste is sweetened just right. These yummy little buns are so delightful!! Got a vegetarian bao for my JZ and it was really good too, she liked it a lot! I also tried the beef banh mi. Not only was it bigger than most banh mis I've had, it was also very tasty!! I typically avoid meat banh mis since most of the banh mi joints I've tried marinate their meats in some type of fish sauce base. I very much appreciate that Yummy Bakery does not marinate their beef in fish sauce (thank you for that)!! I saw that they had Yummy Spicy Roasted Peanuts and decided to try it. The magical touch of lemongrass, kaffir lime, Hanoi red chili, and garlic made this snack super amazing!! Lastly, I got the Vietnamese coffee. Rich bold taste, made from potent robusta beans. If you're sensitive to caffeine, pregnant, suffer from insomnia, or have HBP, do not drink this!! It's basically iced meth in a to go cup... which explains why I had the sudden urge to cut all of my palm tree leaves and and am still up at 3am writing Yelp reviews lol! Definitely tweakin' on Vietnamese coffee today, haha!! Great bakery and would definitely go back for the taro buns, banh mi, and peanuts... and maybe the Vietnamese coffee too lol!! So... the hype is real!! Taro buns are actually purple gold!! Everything here is so yummy!!

That's amazing that the quality of a place is relative to where you are. If this were in a Vietnamese food desert like New York City, then it absolutely would be a five-star place. The banh bao are okay, and the sandwiches are pretty good too. For around 6 bucks, you got a nicely filled sandwich with toppings. I ordered a chicken sandwich, pork belly, as well as the classic. The cafe sua da was pre-made, and served with chewable ice. The store itself is nice, modern and clean.

Came back for a second time in 2 weeks because my family is addicted to the Taro banh baos that are hard to find in LA County. Had the chicken banh mi today and it was excellent. The baguette was fresh and toasty, and the ingredients inside were so fresh! The cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots are so complementing to the flavor of the chicken. Just enough flavor until the jalapeno gives you a quick kick to taste buds. Outstanding!! Love the sandwich, can't wait to get another.
